No More Diapers!...

At least for Ethan!!! I am so excited. Ethan is pretty much potty trained now. My little boy isn't so little anymore. My goal was to have him potty trained by his 3rd birthday and that is still a month away! :)

How did I have time to get him potty trained you may ask?

I didn't really do a whole lot. I just bought him some prizes, sat his potty out where he could see it and would ask him every once in a while if he needed to go.

He did everything else on his own. He likes getting the prizes and he likes wearing underwear. He stayed dry the whole night last night and all during church. I even got him to go to the bathroom a couple of times at church (I was worried about this because he hadn't gone in a public bathroom before).

Way to go Ethan! Your such a big boy and I am so proud of you.

Hmm..... I wonder if I could get Logan potty trained now. I like having to change only one kids diaper now, but why not go for both? :) I think I am getting ahead of myself. I will wait until he is at least two. I mean, I just barely got him to stop taking a bottle.

The BIG BOY himself!

Chris' Bucket List of this year

It's sort of a small list of things I want to get down or even started.

1. Read all the scriptures (It's the right thing to do)
2. Get every room in my house deep cleaned (It's a lot harder than it sounds)
3. Get all the 'vine' grass out of my backyard and replace it (This will be a very difficult job)
4. Create a garden area for next year in the backyard (I'm hungry)
5. Learn how to snow ski (I can't wait, this winter will finally be fun)
6. Run a 5k race for the whole time (I really want to be a lot healthier)
7. Create a good savings (It's just a good thing to have)

This is probably a good list for now. I suppose I'm writing this just as a method of committing myself to get things done. If you comment, let me know of what you would like to accomplish this year. Otay?

Yesterday...

and

Chris got the screw driver out of the toilet and so it is no longer clogged!

What more could a girl ask for? :)

More Family Vacation

The first full day we were in Portland, we decided to go to the Oregon Zoo. I don't want to offend anyone, but it is way better than Hogle Zoo. It is situated in a forest and so trees are surrounding every exhibit. It is so pretty. The animals were so friendly and we actually had quite a few of them come up to the glass and look at us. The highlight of the day was probably when we saw the baby elephant. She was so cute! I didn't get a good picture of her, but I did get a cute video on my video camera.

Logan was so tired and slept for the first part. Ethan was so nice to let him lay on his shoulder!

Watching the Polar Bear eat.

This orangutan came right up to the glass when he saw us.

We stayed at the zoo for about 4 hours and I think the boys really enjoyed seeing the animals. When we were leaving I asked Ethan what his favorite animal was. He told me, "Mine was the Zebra... and Logan's was the alligator." It was really cute, because he was acting like Logan had told him that.

The next day we took a trip to the Oregon Coast. It took us over an hour to get there, because there is no direct free way to it. We did travel through a beautiful forest though. Before we got to the ocean, we stopped in Tillamook at the Cheese factory. They have a self-guided tour of the factory and then you get to sample cheese... and of course we had to get some ice cream afterwards!
At the Cheese factory- I just love the look on Logan's face in this picture.

Well, I think I will finish writing about our trip on our next post. I know that I am really dragging this out, but I think if I did it in one post than it would be too long. I just feel like I don't have time to do it either, because of all of the homework I have to do.

I know... I'm crazy to be school. It is really stressful, but it also makes me feel really good about myself!

Family Vay-Cay!

I have been meaning to write about our family vacation... everyday... since we have been back. For some reason I just haven't felt like doing it. It is probably just because I feel like I am too busy.

I started school again this last week. Oh goodie.

Anyways, we took a fun, family road trip to Portland Oregon. It was an 11 hour drive. Very long. On the way there we cut it into two days. We stopped in Nampa, Idaho (it is by Boise) the first night and visited with my Grandparents. We played arcade games and I even tried my hand at a batting cage. Actually, I should really say that I HURT my hand. Those softballs are really heavy!

On the way to Nampa we stopped in Twin Falls and saw the new temple there. We also saw the Shoshone Falls. It is a really big waterfall and is actually taller than Niagara Falls!

The next day we drove the rest of the way. For the last couple of hours you get to drive along the Columbia River. It is HUGE and so beautiful.... and as you get closer there are waterfalls on the side of the mountain... EVERYWHERE!

Here are a few pictures:

Well, my textbooks are calling me and so I hope to write more about our awesome vacation tomorrow!

Older and hopefully WISER

Today is my Birthday....

and the sad thing is that I am not extremely excited about it...

I mean I'm excited, but not near as excited as when I was younger.

I used to count down to my birthday, months in advance and then the night before I wouldn't be able to sleep. I would also get so excited about the presents I would get and the fact that I was going to be 1 year older.

Well, I think the biggest problem for me is that I don't want to get older anymore! I feel like time is slipping away so quickly and before I know it I will be an old lady.

I am looking forward to my family coming over, though. And maybe I will do something extra with my hair. :) (okay so, it will actually be Katie doing my hair. Thanks Katie!)

I'm just a silly girl.

Note:
We just got back from a family vacation and so I will post soon where we went and what we did. It was a blast!

Clogged plumbing

Ethan flushed a screw driver down our toilet.

I don't know how I feel about that. Okay, so I'm really not too pleased... but what can I expect. He's almost 3 years old. I hear all of these stories about all the kids who flush things down toilets, but I always have said to myself, "My kids aren't like that!"

Boy was I wrong.

When he told me that he had flushed it, I didn't believe him, because it was a good sized screw driver. But than I went to the bathroom and it flooded.

I believe him now.

So now we have to figure out how to get it out. Oh joy.

Breakfast and a Movie

Chris and I had a fun little date on Thursday night...

His brother Jason invited us to go to the midnight showing of X-Men Origins: Wolverine. We had a lot of fun! The movie was awesome; if you haven't seen it, than you should go... and if you have kids than Chris will watch them for you! :)

After the movie we decided to go to Denny's for breakfast. We were so tired, but we thought it would be fun, since that it something we did when we were dating. We didn't get home until 4 am. It's definitely not something I could do all of the time, but it is fun to pretend that I am a kid with no responsibilities; every once in a while. Thanks Mom and Dad for watching the boys!

These pics were taken on Chris' phone, so they aren't very good:
